This is one of the questions that we are asked most frequently. First, how can you have too many Catholic high schools? There are more than a million Catholics in Orange County and there are a handful of Catholic high schools. Some of these schools currently have waiting lists. The Catholic schools capture a fraction of the students who are looking for a good Catholic education.
Second, who couldn't benefit from a good private school education, especially a good Catholic education. Catholics have been educating individuals from every strata of society for hundreds of years. Like many of the Catholic high schools, we welcome anyone who is searching for a quality of education they may not be able to find otherwise.
Every school has it's own distinct personality and identity. And not every high school is a fit for every student. Stella Maris will be the only classical Catholic high school in Orange County.
All subjects are integrated with Christ at the center. We will never be larger than about 200 students for the entire student body. We have daily mass as the center of our school day and we teach the students the art of living with the hope that they can achieve eudomonia (how's that for a good ten dollar word?!), not how to achieve success by this world's standards; though Chesterton Academy students will distinguish themselves in their vocations and career paths, no doubt.
We can't have too many opportunities for our young people to be strengthened and encouraged and receive a quality of education that will help them grow and become the saints they are called to be.
