Imagine you just lost your father to his battle with cancer and your mother tells you that you don't have to go to school, but you want to go to school, because your family is there.
That was one of the many stories I heard when I made my first visit to a Chesterton Academy.
If I could transport everyone who cares about education to a Chesterton Academy, I wouldn't have to say another word. The atmosphere of love, joy and wonder is palpable. Imagine bringing your authentic self to a deep discussion about the nature of reality in philosophy, pondering a proof from Euclid, learning to ballroom dance, play a part in a full-length comedy, sing sacred choral music, and paint a work of art. A Chesterton Academy education is designed to give students a feast for their souls and freedom. True freedom, which consists of knowing the good and having the strength to do that good. Students at a Chesterton Academy are immersed in community with small classes that allow them to engage with the greatest thought, truth and beauty the world has produced. With Christ at the center in daily Mass, the absence of devices, integrated curriculum, and Socratic discussion, Chesterton Academy students encounter the love of the Father. And that love transforms them and prepares them to contemplate the truth, goodness and beauty that is God and to meet all of the challenges they will inevitably face in this life and to become saints.
If you haven't attended an open house or spoken with us about Chesterton for your student, RSVP for the next open house today or call us. We'd love to meet you, pray for you and have you support Stella Maris Chesterton Academy in Orange.
