With the 2024 school year fast approaching and so many setbacks and challenges since we began this worthy effort, we have put our sights on 2025. As many of you are aware, we lost key members of our team this year and were not able to replace them in order to continue recruiting students and raising funds for the 2024 school year. The question is: can we find board members and families now to help us bring this joyfully Catholic, classical high school to Orange County in 2025?
A school like anything new and wonderful needs a robust community to grow it. Neither children nor families – nor institutions of wonder and learning – grow without strong supporters and partners. We need a core team of active board members and parents to roll up their sleeves and put boots to the ground for this worthy endeavor.
With your help, we will open in 2025. We maintain that Orange County ought to have a Chesterton Academy. Stella Maris Chesterton Academy.
Our emails and our outreach events have been warmly received, and we're so grateful to those of you who have shared your excitement with us and encouraged us in our dream of a joyfully Catholic, classical high school. This dream is being lived all over the country with more than 65 Chesterton Academies open and welcoming students in 2024. We may not be part of the 2024 cohort, but with the right families and board members, partners and prayer warriors, we believe we can bring the beauty of a classical Catholic education, Chesterton-style, to Orange County in 2025.
Please consider how you might be a part of this exciting opportunity. We believe that Chesterton Academies are the seedbed where the good seed is planted and produces a crop a hundredfold of what has been sown.
The Board is especially in need of parents who will have a high school freshman in 2025. A background in marketing or fundraising or finance is helpful but not necessary. Anyone with a passion for their faith and for education is encouraged to approach us for more information. As a member of a network of Chesterton Schools, we have so many of the pieces and process laid out for us with the guidance of schools that have gone before.
The Founding Board will put these pieces in place in our community and then pass the baton to the Executive Director and Headmaster when they assume their roles next summer.
The time commitment is 3 to 10 hours per week depending on what aspect of the operation is currently being tackled. The constant activity for every member of a Chesterton Academy is praying, then building and cultivating relationships with those like-minded folks who appreciate the gift of a joyfully Catholic, classical education. I'm telling you, these schools are game changers in the world of education. And once the seed is planted and we have students who can tell their story, its not difficult to find admirers and supporters. This is what has happened all over the country and can happen here, God willing, through prayer and perseverance.
Contact us today to discuss this opportunity. And pray with me. The laborers are few but the harvest is plentiful. Let us pray that the Lord sends workers to His harvest.
